I think I fucked it up. Meh. Got to take off the plastic wrapping when this got here this morning, then toy around with it in the photo booth and drive around the back lot. I still think the suspension is too soft on these. Absolutely amazing other than that, even with the autobox. The paint is garbage. GM is the King of Orange Peel lately, especially on the Camaro.

Pretty much all automakers suck these days when it comes to paint. That being said, orange peel on a 60K plus car is ridiculous.

IS that a base, not even z51 ‘vette? I’ve heard the same thing about those being soft. I think the assumption there is any one not buying a z51 isn’t going to be tracking or driving the car hard anyways. other wise they’d spring for the z51 and the MagneRide. if it is a z51 or higher with MagneRide it may seem soft due to slow speeds in the lot, they stiffen up as you get going, but even then I have never heard “soft ride” and magneride in the same sentence even in the realm of Cadillac speak.

Weight reduction though so I’d take that over heavier paint.

Right? You either end up with orange peel or paint so thin it has to be measured in atomic radii.

Yup. And this is yet another reason why I’ll never buy another black car. My 15 Civic looks like I follow a gravel truck in my daily commute. If I had gotten a lighter color it wouldn’t have been as noticeable.

Not really a valid comparison. You could get a fleet of ‘Vettes for the cost of a GT. You could probably buy a decent example of every generation of Corvette for less than one GT, honestly.
